Capricorn Health-tech Fund makes first investment

Leuven, Belgium: 11 April 2011 - Following the first close of Capricorn Health-tech Fund in December 2010, Capricorn Venture Partners announced today its investment in NovaShunt AG, based in Zug, Switzerland.

NovaShunt is a privately owned medical device company that is dedicated to improving the lives of patients through innovative technologies to manage fluid within the body. The company's ALFApump System is a proprietary, implantable pump system that continually removes excess abdominal fluid, known as ascites, in patients suffering from liver cirrhosis, certain cancers and congestive heart failure.
